Filipino Martial Arts:
Eskrima-Kali-Arnis

Are you looking for a new challenge? Would you like to learn how to fight with weapons? When it comes to weapons fighting it’s hard to beat the Filipino martial arts, also known as Eskrima, Kali or Arnis. Training in the Filipino martial arts is extremely challenging and improves a person’s focus, confidence, and level of fitness.

Unlike many martial art systems that emphasize learning empty hand techniques before learning weapons, the Filipino martial arts emphasize learning weapons first. Training often includes learning how to use a verity of bladed weapons, single stick, double stick, long weapons like a pole or cane, and flexible weapons like a chain or whip. The skills learned are easily transferable to improvised weapons and empty hand fighting.

Filipino martial arts are both a practical method of self defense and a combat sport. As a combat sport practitioners compete in tournaments using both hard and soft sticks as well as practice knives. Cobra Kai Martial Arts is the only gym in the High Desert offering training in both the self defense and the combative sport aspects of the Filipino martial arts; our students compete regularly in full contact stick fighting competitions and our training includes live stick sparring.

If you are looking for an authentic training in the Filipino martial arts that includes traditional training, self defense techniques, sport competition and live sparring, then we invite you try out our Filipino martial arts program.
